Ananda Metelina is a textile explorer
and recent graduate of FIT’s Textile
Development and Marketing program,
where they graduated with honors and
minors in Ethics & Sustainability and
International Trade and Marketing.
Their work bridges material science, cultural research, and visual storytelling. Whether it is weaving with forgotten and rare
fibers such as piña and abaca or testing natural finishes in the lab, they approach textiles as both functional surfaces and
vessels of meaning.
A key part of their practice is investigating identity through fabric, movement, and memory. “Searching for the “Third Space”
on the Dance Floor” research project explored hybrid identities and embodied expression in nightlife spaces — blending
ethnography, dance, and cultural explorations.
This website is both a portfolio and a living archive — a place to share past work and make space for future textile projects, poetic experiments, and collaborations. Ananda is currently seeking opportunities in sustainable sourcing, textile innovation, and research-driven design.
